Welcome to the RCMAR Wiki or as we've named it RiCkyPedia. This part of the site is an enhancement to the RCMAR website that will allow you to better collaborate with other researchers.

What is RCMAR?

The Resource Centers for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR) mission is to decrease health disparities by:

• Increasing the number of researchers who focus on the health of minority elders;
• Enhancing the diversity in the professional workforce by mentoring minority academic researchers for careers in minority elders health research;
• Improving recruitment and retention methods used to enlist minority elders in research studies;
• Creating culturally sensitive health measures that assess the health status of minority elders with greater precision; and,
• Increasing the effectiveness of interventions designed to improve their health and well-being.

There are six sites and a coordinating center at major universities around the country funded by the National Institute on Aging.

How to contribute to RiCkyPedia

This site is designed to contribute to our scientifically generated knowledge about minority aging. Anyone can contribute as long as the material is appropriate to the topic and scientifically supported.

There is a slight learning curve to overcome in order to contribute content, but there is a convenient Help menu that appears near the bottom of the page once you start to edit. Please experiment with adding content on Measures and Measurement.
