The Dutch Cancer Society is supporting special ICRETT fellowships for candidates from Indonesia going to suitable host institutes in the Netherlands and visa versa. They aim at supporting the close links between the two countries through projects that

Foster the acquisition of up-to-date clinical management, diagnostic and therapeutic expertise

Exchange knowledge and enhance skills in cancer control and prevention

Facilitate rapid transfer of cancer research and clinical technology

In the field of cancer control and prevention, applications are particularly encouraged for projects directed at epidemiology and cancer registration.

The fellowships are funded by a group of cancer institutes, societies, leagues, associations, and governmental agencies in North America, Europe, and Australia. The aims of the awards are threefold:

To facilitate rapid international transfer of cancer research and clinical technology

To exchange knowledge and enhance skills in basic, clinical, behavioural, and

Epidemiological areas of cancer research, and in cancer control and prevention

To acquire up-to-date clinical management, diagnostic and therapeutic expertise

Applications are particularly encouraged for projects in the fields of cancer control & prevention; epidemiology & cancer registration, public education, and behavioural sciences.

The short-term fellowships permit successful candidates to spend up to 3 months at a suitable host institute abroad. They are particularly aimed at investigators and clinicians working in places where such teaching is not yet available and where the necessary facilities exist to apply and disseminate the new skills upon return. Qualified cancer investigators should be at the early stages in their careers whilst clinicians should be well established in their oncology practice. Experts from any country, who have been invited to teach these specialised skills at institutes abroad, are also eligible to apply (reverse flow ICRETTs).
