    Community Liaison Core of the
Center for Aging in Diverse Communities

The Community Liaison Core of the Center for Aging in Diverse Communities (CADC) ensures the representation and participation of African American and Latino community members in aging research by bridging the resources of communities and research institutions. The community Liaison Core creates linkages between research institutions and community based organizations that aim to decrease racial and ethnic disparities in the health of older African Americans and Latinos.

Our Center is currently collaborating with several community based organizations to develop and implement health education and screening programs for African American and Latino elders. Programs recently offered include a flu shot clinic and nutrition and weight loss lecture at Allen Temple Baptist Church, prostate cancer education and screening in collaboration with 100 Black Men of the Bay Area Inc., a community health fair and lecture series in collaboration with the Central American Resource Center, and a diabetes screening and educational fair in the Latino community.
