Workshop Objectives:
- Identify the structure, process and critical components of successful mentorship programs for minority researcher and faculty development.
- Explore the expectations and measures of success from the perspectives of faculty receiving mentoring (mentees), faculty providing mentoring (mentors), and programs that fund minority faculty development in aging research.
- Discuss the mentoring needs of faculty through the continuum of their academic advancement process.
- Review models of faculty development mentorship programs.
- Consider issues germane to racial and ethnic minority faculty development that are critical in mentoring programs.
- To develop models of minority faculty mentorship programs that represent “best practices”.
